For over 40 years Bruce Springsteen has stood astride the rock ’n’ roll stage like a musical colossus, his 18 studio albums – from the 1973 debut, Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., to 2014’s High Hopes – the testament of a life dedicated to musical prowess and committed songwriting.

Garnering critical acclaim since the beginning of his recording career, his albums have reflected deeply-felt passions and concerns, from the state of the American working man in The River and Nebraska, to the highs and lows of personal relationships in Tunnel of Love; from the bleak visions in Darkness on the Edge of Town to the often unrecognized anger of Born in the U.S.A.

No fewer than nine of his studio releases have topped the album charts in the United States, where Bruce Springsteen has sold over 75 million albums in total (out of 120 million worldwide), and received 20 Grammy awards in the process. And his recording (or indeed performing) career shows no sign of slowing down or losing its cutting-edge impetus – the last of the US chart toppers was in fact his latest album, High Hopes. ‘The Boss’, after four dynamic decades, is still at the top of his game.
