| Publication Overview Robert Ingpen was born in 1936, and studied illustration art in Melbourne. He has designed, illustrated and written more than 100 published books of fiction and non-fiction. In 1986 he was awarded the coveted Hans Christian Andersen Medal for his contribution to children's literature. In recent times he has illustrated editions of other works of classic literature such as Treasure Island (1992), Around the World in 80 Days (1999), Pinocchio (2001), The Jungle Book (2003), Peter Pan and Wendy (2004), A Christmas Carol (2008) and The Boy from Bowral (2008). |
