| Publication OverviewGeorge Perry became a journalist after editing the university newspaper Varsity at Cambridge University. He was films editor of the London Sunday Times and travelled the world to interview many of the greatest names in movies. He has also written around 30 books including The Penguin Book of Comics, The Great British Picture Show, The Complete Phantom of the Opera, A Bear's Life, Sunset Boulevard: From Movie to Musical, and The Life of Python. He has been President of the London Critic's Circle, is a frequent broadcaster and has scripted television tributes to stars including Julie Andrews and Sean Connery. He has written many radio documentaries on film subjects and served on a number of international film festival juries, and is a founding member of the selection panel for the prestigious Carl Foreman Award, presented annually by BAFTA. |
